All she did was frown at me like she didn’t understand. I’d told her to run. Why couldn’t she, for once, follow my orders? Apparently, showing her the key wasn’t enough. Of course it wasn’t, she didn’t know what it opened. I was stupid—or at least drunk. Very drunk.
