The stream of hot water cascaded down my back and washed away the memories of the night as I sat on the bench seat in the pool house bathroom. I don’t know how Colton had managed to enter The Toy Box unnoticed or how we managed to scale the building and escape out the windows. All I knew was that I was very thankful that he got there when he had. The drive back to Boat Harbor was silent. All four guys sat in their seats without speaking a word. Now and again, Steele would glance at me from the passenger seat. Even though he looked as though he wanted to say something, he kept his thoughts to himself. Tyler drove the G-wagon, and Hawke and Colton were in the backseat with me. Colton’s protective hand rested against my thigh on the seat between us, and it sent feelings of confusion mixed with comfort through me. I didn’t know why they all had risked their lives to come to get me, and I didn’t want to owe them anything for it. But, yet again, I owed them all my life.
