I didn’t even know what day it was anymore. All I knew was I had to face the St. Ivy snobs once more. I’d stayed home for over a week to recuperate and play out the lie of being in a car accident. But I needed to get back to some semblance of normalcy; I couldn’t stay couped up in the house forever. I’d tried my best to cover my yellowing bruises with the make-up I had, but you could still see the marks that decorated my face. But hey, what didn’t kill you only made you stronger. I threw back two Tylenol with a mouthful of coffee and grabbed my new school bag. My last one had remained at Black Grove. I doubted Dylan would return it any time soon.
