It had felt as though I hadn’t slept all night. My mind had raced with unanswered questions. I’d shoved the blankets off me and climbed out of bed. Sweat beaded down the back of my neck as I made my way to the balcony. It was just past dawn and the sun had started to peek over the horizon to bathe the ocean in her warmth. I could smell the salty ocean air as the waves crashed against the shore and remembered Tyler had asked me to meet him for a surf.
