Peyton
I stared into the void of space he had left behind, my thoughts were a jumbled mess in my head, and my heart was a splintered wound in my chest. A sour hatred slowly filled the gaps in my soul as I stared at the path he took to escape me. This was the last fucking time I’d let him make me feel anything. I’d ignore him as he had done to me these past few weeks and pretend my soul hadn’t been shattered into so many pieces that there was no putting me back together. My inner ramblings were interrupted when Colton came into view. He approached me carefully, and as he closed the distance between us, I ran to him and slammed into his broad chest. He wrapped his arms around me to cradle me against him. I didn’t care who saw us at this point, I needed someone to hold me together, and he gave me what I needed.
